WELCOME TO OUR LAB

We’re an interdisciplinary research group at UT Austin BME

We develop platform technologies that increase access to diagnostics, with core applications in infectious diseases, women’s health, and One Health.

​​

Our work integrates synthetic biology, biosensor engineering, bioinformatics, and AI/ML to create rapid, accessible tools for real-world settings. We specialize in designing and evaluating point-of-care diagnostics, including lateral flow assays, microfluidic systems, and electrochemical sensors tailored to clinical and resource-limited environments.

 

​We view diagnostics as a platform for impact. While our current focus includes tuberculosis, HIV, and reproductive health, our platform technologies are intentionally adaptable, enabling us to expand into new health domains where fast, field-ready tools are critically needed.

​

We collaborate globally and welcome new partnerships, trainees, and ideas. Whether you’re interested in designing novel assays, decoding omics data, or applying AI to biosensing.
